MASSIVE WAGONS SIGN WITH EARACHE RECORDS

I am writing this, whilst still elated from the news that MASSIVE WAGONS have signed a worldwide record deal with Earache Records.

The Lancashire lads have gone and done it. Eight years of graft, gigging hard and being generally awesome, has secured them a fantastic deal.
Earache are onto a winner securing the mighty Massive Wagons. They join a wealth of talent already under Earaches belt, including Rival sons, Blackberry Smoke, The Temperance Movement and The White Buffalo. That my friends is the epitome of a cracking list. I think the lads are in safe hands!
Massive Wagons storming StoneFree Festival

With a new album set to be released in early 2018 - under their new label, the Wagons are going from strength to strength. Their last album 'Welcome to the World' stamped their place firmly in British  - no nonsense, 'what you see is what you get' Rock!!
Welcome to the World, is one of those albums that you always go back to and the reason for this, every track on that 10 track album, is a belter! If you don't own the album, it really is one you should add to your collection. Why not whack it on your Christmas list, I guarantee will be best delivery Santa makes to you and he might just be wearing a Tshirt saying 'Guff says Relax ..' on it and donning some tassels on those red velvet trousers of his too!
Planet Rock Winters End Festival

The Mighty Massive Wagons are not only a heart thumping, rockin band but are the best bunch you could have the pleasure of meeting and I am lucky to say, I have many a time.
Baz and my slightly hungover self !!
Up front on Vocals is Barry - known to most as Baz, Adam on guitar, Alex on drums and Adam on Bass. They make a pretty nifty team and with gigging up and down the country, smashing the festivals, they really have perfected their skill.
In the past year I have seen them ten times and the growth in them has been phenomenal. They really did steal the nights at both Planet Rock Winters End festival and again at Amplified Festival this summer. The passion and energy in their set, is contagious - it really is the stuff that smiles are made of !
Wagons thrashing those amps at Amplified
A little heads up, when going to see Massive Wagons, be prepared to firstly - bounce and secondly be left agasp! Every gig they do comes with true conviction, no half measures here, so you will be left singing your heart out and yes, you will be punching the air! Perfect!

The wagons have a few dates on the horizon, go get ya 'Ratio' in check and give them your support. The dates are :
28th Oct - Lancaster City library (sold out)
6th Nov - Manchester Rebellion with Von Hertzen Brothers
8th Nov - HRH Awards
25th Nov - Winterstorm Festival
2nd Dec - Planet Rockstock  (sold out)
Awesome Adam at Winters End festival

To say I am chuffed for Massive wagons is the understatement of the century! I am completely bowled over for the guys, it really shows, that true grit determination, hard work and belief can pay off. The Wagons have always kept it raw and real, that's the awesomeness about them, now its time to get those tracks played on the radio! Yes.. Yes... Yes.. Yes .. Yes..!!

All that's left for me to say is - 'Fee Fi Fo Fum... I smell the blood of an English rock n Roll band' and that band, is gonna go kick Rock n Rolls butt big style and leave one huge MW print firmly on it !!

Good Luck Guys

THE BAD FLOWERS

Now here's a band, some of you will have heard of and others not!
The Bad Flowers are my band 'to watch' for the next year.  I predict lots of big tantalising Rock n Roll opportunities for them !
Why??? ... Pin back those ears, have a listen and then let me enlighten you.

Lets start, by getting to know the band...
Up front on vocals and lead guitar is the very tall, very awesome, very sweet Tom Leighton. I don't know about you but I love a band that feel the music. Tom lives it and breathes it, you can almost see it transcending through his body when he sings and plays! Trust me when I say, he is spellbinding - guarantee you will get tingles, all the way up and down your spine!
Toms's vocals and guitar playing are level pegging and that pegging, comes in at a quality rating of sublime.
*Side note to you all about Tom, he is likely to photobomb all your piccys too, you have been warned!! *

Dale Tonk is up next, bass player extroadinaire and I don't say that light heartedly!  Dale is big, bold and groovy ( he is also a bit cute ).  Dale really stands out as a first rate bass player, he is unique, passionate and a hidden weapon within The bad Flowers . He also has an AMAZING voice, so not only will he bowl you over with his bass skills, he will leave your jaw on the floor when he takes to the mic too!

To complete this power trio from the Midlands, is the long haired, hard hitting, stick twirlng Karl Selicki. Like his compardres, Karl greets every beat with a smile and a thrilling devotion to the music that the band play. .Put these three highly enthused, heart warming characters together and you have a band, a phenomenal band!!
The Bad Flowers at Wildfire Festival

If you like your classic Zep and  Hendrix riffs, mixed in with a blues contemporary feel and a southern tinge around the edges - this my friends, is the band for you!
Wow, they really do have it all and add into the mix, they are such a spectacular band to watch, you instantly see why they have taken giant steps forward in this past year.

You may have seen them support the likes of Crobot, Tyler Bryant and the shakedown or Toseland previously. They are just kicking off their new support slot with The Picturebooks so a perfect opportunity, if you get the chance to go catch them on this tour. Little tip, go grab that chance with both hands!
The dates for this tour are :
The Flapper - Birmingham Oct 5th
Satan's Hollow - Manchester Oct 6th
Lounge 41 - Workington Oct 7th
The Mothers' Ruin - Bristol Oct 8th
Yardbirds - Grimsby Oct 13th
The Pit - Swansea Oct 14th
Corporation -Sheffield Oct 15th
The Lexington - London Oct 16th
The Bullingdon - Oxford Oct 24th
The Soundhouse - Leicester Nov 24th
AND
Planet Rock Winters End festival - Poole Feb 23rd

Not only have The Bad Flowers been given a prestigious evening spot at Planet Rock Winters End festival, they have also just been added to the Planet Rock Christmas party event, alongside The Blues Pills . The guys will be performing a stunning acoustic set to start the evening off, in the notorious Jazz café in Camden, London.

This as I say,  is a band on the up and really couldn't happen to nicer guys. Their latest release 'Thunder child' has been picked up by Planet Rock and lots of the regional radio stations, including Guy Bellamys' Rock show.
The song is epic, full of riffs, catchy as hell and really shows why you gotta check these guys out - don't delay !! This track is to be on their debut album, out early next year and to be titled ' Starting Gun'. That has my name all over it already!

Get out there and catch a gig this autumn and give the lads a woooo for me.
Even got a Wooo on my drum skin!

WAYWARD SONS - GHOSTS OF YET TO COME

Having had the Wayward Sons album -' Ghosts of yet to Come ' a whole week now, I thought it was time to let you know, what little me thinks.
Buy the merch !

For all of you not aware of Wayward Sons yet ( where have you been?!!) it's a canny band, made up of some great British talent.

Front man to the band is the formidable Toby Jepson, former front man to the awesome Little Angels. Now, I can't say Little Angels without tilting my head to one side and ahhing! They fell into the early 90's era of rock when the likes of Thunder, Gun and Quireboys were making huge waves in the British rock scene and stealing the hearts of many teenage rockers, me included!

Band member numero deux, is Nic wastell on bass.  Nic has the heritage of Chrome Molly to his strings and being a former Record label chum to Little Angels this is about as perfect as it gets.

Every band needs one hell of a guitarist and Sam Wood is the man for the job in Wayward Sons, a younger member but in no way distracting from his talent, having worked his magic in alternative rock band The Treason Kings, Sam now brings his unrestricted skills to Wayward Sons.

Up next is Phil Martini, master of the beat. Yep, Phil is the drummer of the band and again has earned his stripes playing with many a band. The band I recall seeing Phil with though, is the awesome Down n Outz , that makes me an instant fan.

Finally, Dave Kemp is the keys of the band. Dave and Toby have been partners in crime for sometime, not only on Toby's acoustic tours but as writers too. Their friendship and humour completes the band superbly.

That's an introduction to the band done and dusted, now let me introduce you to - 'Ghost Of Yet To Come'. The debut album and overall masterpiece of this newly formed guise.
A ten track album that has been highly anticipated, this promise has been taken to a whole new level with the cleverly, awesome 'quadrology' that has been tantalising fans.
The so called 'Quadrology' consists of  'Until The End', 'Alive','' Crush' and 'Ghosts' - seamlessly brought together with the ruthless, money grabbing zombie enthused video series for these tracks.

'Until The End', was the first released track from the album and has already claimed my coveted track of year accolade, its rocky, strong, compelling and catchy beyond belief!
Fear not though my friends, unlike a film where you watch a stonking trailer then view the film, to realise all the best bits were within the trailer, this is most definitely not the case with this album. The four stunning tracks that have been released are sandwiched within an album that is pure RnR class!

'Ghosts Of Yet to Come' is a whole album of unadulterated Rock n Rock, not a ballad in sight! The closest you will get to that is the colossal  'Crush'.  If you were a Little Angels fan - 'Crush' and 'Until The End' throw back to days of  'Jam' then 'Give it Away 'and 'Be Still' resonate back to days of  'Young Gods' for me.
There are many nods within this album though, many heavy classic rock riffs exploding into your ears, checkout 'Killing Time' - WOW! Big salute to Sam Wood, that is some enchanting playing.
The album concludes with 'Something Wrong' another captivating, symphonic track with a notable bluesy edge this time.
This album really has it all, in simple terms there is not a duffer on it !
I really can't recommend this album enough, its catchy, gutsy, zesty...it's Rock n Roll Baby!
10/10 album!

I may have queued all those years ago, for several hours to get my Little Angels vinyl signed at HMV, Oxford Street but I can hand on heart say, I will be queueing again for Wayward Sons after hearing this Amazing album.
A picture from Little angels signing where I happily queued for 4 hours!

Catch Wayward Sons on tour with Inglorious this October then see them as main support at Planet Rocks - Winters End festival next February, can't wait for this one !

Let's hope there is a LOT more to come from these guys!

Remember everyone, life is better with music in your heart & soul

GUN ALBUM LAUNCH

Last night was a special one.. "Why?" I hear you ask.

It was the GUN album launch at The Big Red in London!!!

The anticipated seventh studio album - Favourite Pleasures, is out this week and the gorgeous GUN guys are hitting a few areas to say a big "Thank You" to the fans, who have already ordered their new, stunning album.

Manchester had a taster of the album on the 11th and last night was London's turn before the Celtic lads return home to hit Glasgow, Paisley, Edinburgh and Dundee.

The guys played a captivating acoustic set last night in London. To kick start the set, it had to be the title track from the album, Favourite Pleasures. A real feel good, mischievous, get your dancing shoes on track, which has picked up a large amount of radio air play already and has secured a big spot in the heart of Gunners and Gunettes.
A track this good, will definitely be a firm favourite in any set list for years to come.

Up next, was track number eight on the new album -Tragic Heroes. The reason I know which number track it is .. it's a bit of a favourite for me. The album is full of corkers but this track, is the one I play and then might have to play again and maybe one more time for good measure!
Acoustically it worked great too! Really hoping this will be included in the set for GUNs December tour.

Third on the bill was Silent Lovers,  GUNs new single from the album. A bouncy, melodic track with tinges of a 70's rock feel . A track with that vibe, is going to do one thing and one thing only - grab the spirits of an already enthusiastic crowd and lift them higher! The London crowd didn't disappoint!

Reminiscing next, Dante affectionately explained how the track - The Boy Who Fooled The World,  was a recollection of those days gone by when we would sit lovingly next to our tape deck, eagerly awaiting a play of our favourite tune on the radio, in order to hit that record button and secure the track you had sat there so patiently for.
Don't tell Dante but I recall doing this with GUN, back in the early 90's. The beam on my face and the pounding of my heart to know I had captured their track, is still what I feel when I see the guys to this very day.
The Boy Who Fooled The world is a mesmeric ballad that conveys this passion and the desire of Dante to follow in the footsteps of his heroes. The boy did good!
Simply stunning track and made for being stripped back and shown in all its glory as an acoustic number.

Gun finished the set with two firm favourites, Crazy You - from their 4th studio album and Better Days - from their debut album ( one of my all time favourite debut albums to this very day). The admiring crowd, joined in whole heartedly with these songs, they know and love and the GUN guys were bowled over by the support.
The support is there by the bucket load for these guys, not only do they produce great songs but they are truly warm hearted guys, that have always embraced their Gunners and Gunettes, an honourable quality.

An additional track was put into the set as an added bonus to the crowd, the fantastic - Steal your Fire from their notorious Gallus album. Dante and the lads were joined on stage by the sweet sounding vocals of Lauren Hill, this gorgeous duet worked, really worked and was a winning way to conclude their set.

There was no rushing off for the GUN guys, straight off the stage and into their adoring audience .
I may have had a cuddle or five !!
The astounding tracks from Favourite Pleasures echoed through The Big Red for everyone to enjoy and get a sneaky listen to before their album lands on their doormat this Friday. It you haven't already pre-ordered a copy, why not head over to gunofficial.co.uk and pick up one of the best albums this year has to offer.

Enjoy receiving your albums, vinyl, tees on Friday everyone .

Remember life is better with music in your heart and soul - so crank it up !!

THE CADILLAC THREE - LEGACY

You can't beat the arrival of a new album and when it's the arrival of new The Cadillac Three album - Legacy, someone's hips are already wiggling in anticipation!

First things first, when listening to TC3.... DO IT RIGHT !!

So, that's cowboy boots on - check...whiskey on the rocks poured - check...new Legacy Tee adorned - check and my piccy with the guys lovingly pinned to my wall in front of me - check!
Now, that's how you get TC3 ready!

Time to get Cadillacin, which happens to be the first track on the album. Straight away I am grinning, the opening verse sums TC3 up perfectly - cool, long haired trucker cap guys with southern roots that we have all fallen in love with over the past few years.
Jaren, Kelby and Neil have turned some hard rocking hearts a little bit southern, mine included. Cadillacin, kicks off the album with a wham bam, edgy side to TC3 that instantly works its magic on my hips and reaffirms the guys still have a firm spot, right there in my whiskey sipping, southern heart.

Next up on the album is Tennessee, oh wow...I am wanting to put my black dress on and take me a trip to Tennessee. This is the epitome of an awesome southern rock track, great guitar riffs, with passionate lyrics that are not just sung by Jaren but felt too.
It's rocky but smoothly gentle also, instantly mesmerises me, this is a breath taking track. Can you fall hook, line and sinker in love with a song ?! I just have !! Heart officially stolen.

Hank and Jesus, blissfully follows like a heart warming tale, that has been cherishingly told throughout a family, with the promise it is to be lovingly passed on in the form of a beautiful song (it does just that). A stronger country vibe meanders through this song and showcases Jarens' pure southern vocals perfectly.

Staggering along, comes 'Dang if we didn't' (already beaming) - a song that has gained a fair amount of air play and why not?! It's fun, catchy, full of southern spirit - on all fronts !!
I can already hear me singing this song, many a time over the next few months!!  It may have to gain that title - you know ' The official morning after song'!! I can see you all nodding from here... Yes, you over there too!

Swaying into 'Aint that Country', its time to grab your cowboy hat and fully dive into the love of country rock, with lyrics that depict everything that it is, to be a true southern spirited dweller. A song that again touches every fibre of my beating southern heart and guarantee will do the same to you too.

If you are looking for an anthem, American Slang is that track on Legacy. It's melodic yet equally a vibrant, energetic song. One minute you are swaying , next you are punching the air . Lyrics begging to be learnt, word for word, it is gonna be an absolute corker live - guess what I will be doing between now and November?!

Slowing the pace, 'Take Me To The Bottom', is like that drink you nurse at the end of the night. It's smooth, slips down gently and takes you to that chilled, care -free place. A mellow TC3 will get you hand clapping along to this one, whilst in a dreamy TC3 intoxication. Works for me !

You might not own vinyl but 'Long Hair Don't Care' will make you think you do! Recorded in a retro format , with crackles, woooooos and mmmmms , I am sold! Yep, you will feel like you hanging out with the guys, drowning your sorrows with a bourbon or two and who cares, as the track title indicates. If you want to know why so many people have fallen for the southern drawl, this is the track for you.

Now, if you are a southern rock band, a good number of your songs are going to have some reference to whiskey, Beer, Tequila ( just be grateful you are not picking up their bar tab!).  'Love me Like Liquor', devotes a whole song to it and how do you make a song like this stunning? You get The Cadillac Three to write and sing it - plain and simple ! An awesome, sweet sounding track that will leave you completely under the influence of TC3 (No breathalyzer required !!)

Ready to get foot tapping, you better be ...Demolition Man will insure you do! No stack of stones of regret needed with this track, an uplifting, captivating track with a chorus that will  hook you right in and get you singing along at full pelt. ( Before you ask, of course I was dong my air mic bit!!)

Concluding with the title track of the album - Legacy, a passionate, stirring track that again strikes you firmly in the chest and confirms what is important to these guys. Yes, they may be a band taking leaps and bounds up that really difficult music ladder but their families, friendship and home is what completes them .

Ahhh what can I say .... Jaren, Kelby and Neil , you have wrapped your arms around what you know and love with this album. It's simply Perfect, it is YOU - heart and soul YOU!
If you could take the magic, that is The Cadillac Three and bottle it, you would just need to put this album in that bottle.
Thank you sincerely , this album will be your LEGACY .

Catch the guys in November when they hit the U.K - they are a MUST, once you have seen them live, guarantee you will be going back and back and back !!

THE BAND TEE

Happy Friday one & all...

Lets talk about the 'Band Tee'.... now a T-shirt for some, is that lucky dip rummage in their chest of drawers, grabbing the nearest one to them, throwing it on and away they go!

A Band Tee however, is soooooo much more !! Wrapped up in that cotton, predominantly black garment, is your commitment, love and appreciation to a band that you think are darn right  AWESOME!

A Band Tee secures your place in a kind of invisible loyalty club to that band ( no membership card required).
Look at what happens when you have been at a gig, at the shops or on a train trip and you spot the same band, on a tee of a fellow gigger/shopper/traveller.
First there is a smile, followed by a thumbs up and occasionally a high five!
If you're like me, this Band tee ritual may also come with a hug & a chatta...you know the drill, if you have met me - what can I say, I'm a hugger !

It really is magical stuff!  Straight away you have common ground, a fondness for a band that makes you sing at full pelt, that lifts your spirits on a bad day or just makes you feel you're on top of the world.

I have experienced such magic on many occasion through a Band Tee introduction... the lovely Helen over a Cadillac Three tee at Rockstock, always at the front Michael with a GUN tee at a gig, Michael no.2 on the train courtesy of a Massive tee and the list goes on! Top way to make new buddies.

Not only is the Band Tee curator of many a conversation or smile, it happens to be my most favourite item of clothing too. Not the shoes or bags for me..no, no, no! Give me a Band Tee any day of the week .

From Theia to Thunder, from SKAM to Stone Broken, from Massive Wagons to Monster Truck, from Fireroad to Foreigner - I cherish them all.

For many of the amazing up and coming bands out there, Tee sales are crucial too, to keep the bands on the road. A gig, may of made them pennies but merch sales are what can afford them, their petrol home so if you have got that tenner to spare at the end of the night and loved the band, show them your support. You never know, you might just be buying a tee of a big band of the future - they all started somewhere!

Today my Tee love, goes to the amazing Wayward Sons, a band I am yet to see live but I am beyond excited about. Their debut album is out 15th September - ' Ghosts of Yet To Come'. I really cannot wait to get my mitts on this album and crank it up ( I have a sneaky suspicion, it will be my album of the year).
Big yell out to Mr Rockstock for buying me the Wayward Sons Tee at Ramblin Man , one very happy & thankful recipient.

So my dear friends, go forth and emblazon those bands across your chest, show your support, give them so love, make a friend in the process and if anything, you are gonna look great.

Remember, life is better with music in your heart and soul.

FAVOURITE PLEASURES

Hi all..

Lets get this blog, kicking off in style !
I can't think of a finer way to start, than - GUN!

Gun at Planet Rock session

Now normally, when I comment on facebook or tweet about GUN, it more often than not, features the words - phhhwooarr, swoon and love!
I can't promise this won't....but, I do want to give you a heads up, on what could easily be your 'must buy' album of the year !

Favourite Pleasures is out September 15th and is perfectly named for me!
Long have GUN been a favourite pleasure of mine and this album gives a big seal of approval as to why!
I have been playing the album endlessly ( as any good Gunette would!) and can confirm, with a massive grin on my face, the guys are back to GUNs glory days - wooooo!
It's rocky, meaty, melodic ,riffy - you name it, its got it!

From the title track of the album - Favourite Pleasures, which has been lovingly played on many a radio station (rightly so), to the opening toe tapping guitar riffs of  'She Knows', you will find yourself compelled to throw your hands in the air and sing along.

Every track is punchy, zesty and oh, so memorable. Defy you,  not to know the lyrics of 'Tragic Heroes' by the end of the track, its melodic and rocky with a 'Better Days' vibe (oh, how I love that song).
Honest, you will be a Dante Gizzi wannabe, singing into your air mic after just one play through - it's that catchy!

I guarantee, you will love the mix of melodic grooves, raw rock and then wham bam, along comes the punky edge of  'Go To Hell', to mix it up further..Mind blowing!

To top off this quite super duper album, the simply stunning 'The Boy Who Fooled The World'. A song that most definitely should come with a warning - ' This track, hereby, promises to leave an indelible mark on your heart, from this day forward!'

It really is an album that has it ALL!

If you are not a wiggling after hearing it, your toosh is broken!!

Let me put it like this....  we all love a great album in the car, one that you car-aoke too, so grab that drink in your cup holder, take a swig and get those vocal chords lubricated because trust me, you will be singing your heart out!

Favourite Pleasures will be a member of the - 'you never skip a track and permanently in your cd player' club. We all have a few of those and don't we just love them.....  they become classics!

You can feel how special this album is to the guys too, it has been put together with thought and friendship. A band of brothers, who have got that bit tighter, with the addition of Tommy and that bit more playful too! This is one, the guys are gonna be most proud of  (Good on ya lads).

Right, that is me about done, just to let you know, the gorgeous Gun guys ( they are just that too - time for a phhwooarr ! ) are out on tour with the album at the end of the year with three fab dates:
December
2nd  Glasgow Barrowland
8th Manchester Club Academy
9th London Electric Ballroom

Now, I have been really lucky to see them live twice, in the past couple of months and can hand on heart say, the new tunes are sounding ACE!  Favourite Pleasures was actually my top track, in their set at StoneFree Festival.  It equally sounded, just as awesome acoustically, when they performed it at
Planet Rock.
So, my advice to you, is to ditch the Chrimbo songs for one night in December & treat yourself to an early pressie & go have an amazing night with GUN. ( You won't regret it !!)
I will of course be taking my own advice (try and keep me away!!) and will keep my pinkies crossed  for another peck on the cheek too ! Big beamy smile right now!

Me & Dante ( me trying to not let go!!)

Time to bring in the WOOOOO -o-meter.....drum roll please... !!!

The WOOOOO- o - meter has shot straight to the top for this album & the GUN guys get a full pelt WOOOOO  - 5/5 .

                                                           Puckering up again!

Hope you have enjoyed my little insight into the new GUN album - Favourite Pleasures.

Remember, life is better with music in your heart and Soul.

Intro

Hi....

Yep, it's me Gaynor ...also known as #OneWomanAudience !

I was given this prestigious nickname, by the Mighty Baz, frontman of the hard hitting, awesome Massive Wagons and it has kinda stuck !
If you are asking, why I was given this name?!  You most certainly, have never stood next to me at a gig!!
I am a loud and proud wooooer and singer at gigs. Be it a small, intimate gig or a massive arena, I guarantee you will me hear my excited woooos near and far. Therefore, the fantastic title, is very fitting and one I am happy to have .

Let's get down to the bumf, a wee bit about me - If I am not listening to Rock music, I will most definitely be donning a band tee and most probably, be out seeing a newbie or an oldie band.

Music is everything to me, from rockin out in the car, to an air punching live gig, it's what puts a huge grin firmly on my chops!
I have seen over 100 bands this year, some have been truly awesome and some have just been jaw dropping - best feeling in the world!

Live music really is a passion of mine, not only has it opened my eyes and heart up to many a new band ( trust me, there are some amazing ones out there) but it has given me the best rocking buddies a gal could wish for .
So, next time when you are contemplating spending that £6, to go see a few new bands on a bill. Throw caution to the wind and just GO!  You might just see a legendary band to be, in their infancy! Plus I guarantee you make a pal or two, it's a win win !

My blog will be here, to share my fun and frolics ( always plenty of those!!) , to let you guys know what is tantalising my ears that week - watch out for the woooo-o-meter !!  Also, to keep you posted on my gig going ons and to check out band tees, cd's and any other goodies too.
.

Hope I can make you smile, giggle, maybe even Wooo a little too and hopefully check out a new band or revisit an oldie but a goodie along the way!

Keep Rocking always my friends, check in as and when you can .

Life is better with music in your heart and soul.
